Feeling Nervous About Your First Counselling Session?
It's completely normal to feel anxious about reaching out or attending your first counselling session. Meeting a new therapist and talking about personal things can feel overwhelming.
Just browsing this site shows you're taking a brave first step toward support — for online counselling in the UK
I offer a calm, person-centred and inclusive space, where we move at your pace. If you need adjustments or have questions, please feel free to reach out — I'm here to help make things easier.
What to Expect in Counselling Sessions
Following our free 20-minute consultation call, the first full session tends to be a bit more structured. I often refer to this as our "getting to know you" session. During this time, we’ll cover important information such as confidentiality, boundaries, and any limitations of therapy.
We’ll then explore what brings you to counselling — whether it's anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, or something else — and begin to understand what kind of support you're looking for. This helps tailor our work together, for online therapy sessions across the UK.
From the second session onward, things usually feel much more fluid and open. I offer a calm, person-centred counselling space, where sessions unfold at your own pace. You're welcome to talk freely or engage in more creative or reflective approaches — whatever feels right for you.
There’s no pressure or expectation in your sessions. Connecting through online counselling, the space is yours. You decide the focus, the pace, and how you'd like to work.
Do I Have to Work Creatively in Counselling?
No — it’s completely your choice.
Creative tools are available for those who find them helpful, but they're never required. We’ll work in a way that feels right for you via online therapy.
What issues can online therapy help with?
Online therapy can support a wide range of challenges including anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, and trauma... Please see more on my 'Online Counselling' page. I also provide neurodivergent-affirming counselling and work with LGBTQIA+ clients in a safe, inclusive space.
Are your counselling sessions LGBTQIA+ inclusive?
Absolutely. This is an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy space, where all identities and experiences are welcome. I provide inclusive online therapy for those exploring identity, relationships, or navigating discrimination and stress.
Do you offer therapy for students or young adults?
Yes, I specialise in counselling for young adults and students navigating academic stress, life transitions, and identity.
